Obituary For William Richard Snipes

William "Bill" Richard Snipes (1940–2023) passed away in his home on October 30th, in Bremerton, WA. He enjoyed his quiet life there with his cat "Butter" and the wildlife in his backyard that visited him frequently.

Bill was very passionate about his genealogy research that had been a big part of his life in retirement. He loved reminiscing about his days in the Air Force and the Merchant Marines, through which he was able to travel the world. He shared his stories with everyone he cared about.

Bill was born in Laurinburg, NC but lived most of his life in the Seattle area. He worked for the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton in the field of electronics.

He will be cremated in Puyallup, WA.

Bill leaves behind his sister Susan, his wife Erna, his three daughters Charlene, Darlene, and Linda; as well as six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed as he begins his journey in a better place.

I had been corresponding with Bill for a number of years on our shared Snipes ancestry. My grandfather William Marshall also worked at the same Bremerton shipyard as a welder in the 1950's and 1960's and my Dad grew up in Port Orchard. Bill was always so helpful and friendly; he will be missed! Condolences to his family. Tod Marshall

I recently lost my mom unexpectedly and quickly. This was the first time having to deal with anything like this and when I called and spoke to Kelly, she was able to answer all of my questions with great patience and empathy. Kelly walked me through this whole process from beginning to end.

Very helpful and friendly. Had no idea what I was doing. I was walked through step by step. Very fast at answering emails. If I ever need their services again, they're my first call.

They were very kind, patient and courteous even though not everyone from my family was cooperative with them. I would recommend to anyone in need of this type of service.

Cremation Plus provided us exactly what we needed when we lost Mom. The process was simple and straightforward. Mom's wishes were to have a simple cremation and that's what we got. Thank you!
