Obituary For Angie S Ott

In Loving Memory of

Angie S. Ott (Santillanes, Rael) 80 Angie passed peacefully in the family home, in Auburn, Washington and returned to her heavenly home, on September 14, 2025. She was cared for and surrounded by family throughout her last weeks of life.

She was born on January 19,1945 to Meleton and Virginia (Lujan) Santillanes, in Bernalillo, New Mexico. Then, raised by Lorenzo and Mary Rael.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Ott of the family home, her sons, Gerald Lovato (Pamela) of Hurley, NM, Oliver Lovato of the family home, Jeffrey Lovato (Amy) of Veguita, NM, her daughter Carla Lovato of the family home (Bryan) and honorary children, Erasmo and Milgian. Her nineteen grandchildren, three honorary, and thirty-three great grandchildren, two honorary, and one on the way, and one great-great grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters, and first husband.

She graduated from Bernalillo High School in 1963. Later, she married and had four children. Raising her children with a strong work ethic, shown by her example, at times working two jobs. She began as an assembly worker at Spartan Technology in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Then, transitioned and became a secretary. Besides running her own household, she also did housekeeping, for others. She kept that spirit of cleanliness throughout her whole life. Later, she began working as a nurse’s aide in nursing homes. She was a great caregiver. She continued that path after moving to Washington state, with her second husband, Dennis. With family support, she became a certified medical assistant. She took care of the residents with compassion and great care, until the age of 78, when she retired.

Angie had a lively spirit that loved dancing, music, and singing. She spent a good amount of the day playing, scrambling and filling in the blank word games on her phone. She said, “It keeps my brain young.” She enjoyed watching movies and TV shows with family. Her favorite show was S.W.A.T., AKA “Hondo”, which she called it. Playing with “Her Baby”, Cooper, the family dog, brought her much enjoyment. However, her love of family and friends and time spent with them gave her the most joy. The weekly Sunday dinners were an open invitation for the family to gather. That is what she looked forward to the most.

One month ago, a backyard water feature was brought “Back to Life”, by her son, Gerald, and grandsons, Hondo and Max. She was able to see it being restored right before her eyes. For two weeks, day and night, she sat in her chair for hours. Captivated by the sounds and sights of the water cascading down the rock formation and the twinkling lights. Although only able to take in its presence, for that short period of time, its essence will remain with her, forever.

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and soon to be great-great grandmother, your soul is forever entwined with ours. We will cherish all the magical memorable moments, “Always”.

Cremation has taken place. The family will be gathering at a later time, for a “Celebration of Life”.
