Obituary For Harold Edward Hills

Harold “Bud” Hills, 83, passed away on March 11, 2025 in Tacoma, Washington. Born on September 15, 1941, in Jerome, Arizona, Bud lived a life defined by family, friendship, and travel.

For many years, Bud worked as a semi-truck driver traveling the nation's roads and later as a delivery driver in Seattle. Whether navigating roads or swapping stories he embraced the journey with quiet pride and reliability.

Bud's travels included trips to various states and countries including Ireland and Germany. He skillfully drove his family around the remarkable roads of Ireland on multiple trips creating many memories and much laughter.

Beyond his career, Bud had a deep love for the Puget Sound/Canadian waterways and classic cars. As an active member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, he found peace and purpose whether on his boat or crewing on other boats. He also delighted in showing his 1930 Model A Coupe at vintage car shows and building his own custom Chevy-blending mechanical skills with heartfelt nostalgia. He felt great joy each time his beautiful Model A won a trophy.

Bud treasured the friendships he built along the way. He often expressed gratitude for the wonderful people in hi life-and those who knew him felt equally fortunate to share his company.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Hills; sisters Judith Lentin and Danene Weekley; brother Raymond Hills; brothers-in-law Kevin Crowley and Gary Johnson; sisters-in-law Colleen Antoine and Shelley Bury-Mountain; along with his much loved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grand-nephews, and his cherished friends.

Bud was proceeded in death by his sister Sandra Johnson and his parent, Raymond and Peggy Hills.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date.

I just didn't get much time with Bud, he will be sorely missed. I think of him most days, have to remember I can't call him anymore. Loved the time and talks. Richard Dorsey
