John Mahan McGowan passed away in Olympia, Washington on September 10, 2025. John will be missed and is loved by many family members and friends. Family is currently working on a more complete obituary.

Just heard today. I'm so very sorry to hear the news. John was such a special person. We were so very close once upon a time. He was quirky, compassionate, a story teller...a boy... and then a man that loved so very deeply. He was an amazing guitar player and a poet. He could play some Stevie ray like no other. He always knew he was special...as kids he would regularly remind me his birthday was on Lincoln's birthday. RIP stardog
