Marino Luigi Linardon Sr., age 75, passed away on September 4, 2025 in Olympia, WA after a brief
battle with an aggressive lung cancer.
Born on January 21, 1950 in Marina di Massa, Italy, Marino and his family immigrated to the United
States in 1956. The family settled in Lodi, CA, where Marino later met and married his former wife,
Cheryl, in 1970 and raised two sons.
After living the majority of his life in Lodi, Marino moved to many places across the country, including
Anamoose, ND; Thomson, GA; Ponderay, ID; Liberty, KY; and Tumwater, WA to be near family and
friends, and seek new adventures.
Marino had many varied interests and pursuits, including motorcycles, automobiles, airplanes, ships,
engineering, mechanics, woodworking, electronics, robotics, ham radio, and other disciplines. He was an
avid reader all his life, and especially loved science fiction. And he never met a slice of peach pie he
didn’t like.
Marino is survived by his sons, Marino Jr. and Joseph Linardon; sisters, Anna Fournier and Elvira
Scatena; five nieces, two nephews, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many friends and other extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Giuseppe and Giuseppina Linardon (née Vidos); brother, Arnaldo Linardon of Italy; and sister Nevia Simonelli of Italy.
A devout Christian, Marino’s belief in God never wavered. May he rest in peace.
