Obituary For Mary Margaret Sirven

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mary (Maggie) Sirven on October 31, 2024. Mary was born on May 19, 1932, in the Imperial Valley of California to Swiss immigrants Joseph and Mary Ender. At a young age her family moved to the Auburn Valley in Washington where she worked hard on the family dairy farm. She was the second of five children.

Mary met the love of her life, Teddy Sirven, in the late 50’s and they started a family of their own. That did not stop Mary from providing support to her parents by continuing her work on the farm. She was a strong, hardworking woman with determination to get what she wanted.

Mary touched many hearts throughout her long life of 92 years. Wherever she went she made people smile and was willing to open her arms in a warm hug. She was carefree and playful and made others feel loved.

Mary was predeceased by her parents Joe and Mary Ender, husband Teddy Sirven, brother Joe Ender and two sisters Lena Silvernail and Mary Stewart. She is survived by her sister Josephine Norris, her three daughters Roxy Jensvold, Denise Sirven-McSheery, and Mary Jo Shipley, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn, Washington.

In lieu of flowers, please make online gifts in memory of Mary (Maggie) to the Dementia Society of America www.DementiaSociety.org/donate.

Although Mary is no longer with us, her legacy of laughter and compassion will live on.

Mom, I feel your love around me every day and know you are watching over me. I do miss our adventures and miss you sharing life with me. Walks are no longer the same without pushing your wheelchair and you wanting to go fast down hills to get the feeling of running. I hear your laughter echoing in the wind as I see the herd of elk or see the snow outlined on the hills. Me, you, and Elizabeth took care of each other. We were three generations of women living life. Now I need to learn to live life for you because I know that is what you would want for me. I hear your whisper; I feel your love and I can see your mischievous smiling face. You will live in my heart for eternity. Thank you for being my friend and my mom. I will love you forever. --Mary Jo

Mary was a bright light to all of us at the Mt Si Senior Center. She was so playful and fun and everyone wanted to sit at her table. Her daughter, Mary Jo was with her every day and she was the most patient caregiver I have ever seen. I'm so happy God brought both Mary and Mary Jo into my life. Lovingly, Anne Henderson
