Randolph D. Leach
8/16/1948~ 10/08/2025
Randolph (Randy) Leach passed away peacefully at home on the morning of October 8th, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandad, brother, uncle and friend to many.
Randy grew up in Salem, Oregon. He graduated from North Salem High School in the class of 1966. Known for being a prankster, Randy and his friends were always up to shenanigans. Like the time they moved the high school Band teacher’s VW Beetle into the breezeway. This started the “Leach Legacy” that followed every Leach throughout school.
In his younger years, he was a race car driver and competitively raced his number 28 yellow Vega at such tracks as Salem, Willamette, Portland, Coos Bay, Eugene and a few others.
Randy loved his music. Often times, you would find him listening to his record player. Among his favorite songs were “Sitting on the dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding, “Under the boardwalk” by The Drifters, “Johnny Reb” by Johnny Horton and “Rebel Rouser” by Duane Eddy.
He also was an avid bowler. Randy bowled in many leagues throughout the years, bowling perfect games a dozen times. He confidently wore a ring to represent all of his 300 game achievements.
Randy was a sports enthusiast, and didn’t discriminate which sport! From Nascar to baseball to football alike, if there was a game or a race on, he was watching it or listening to it on his old am/fm radio. Dave Pearson was his favorite Nascar Driver, The Seattle Mariners were his favorite baseball team and The Green Bay Packers were his favorite football team. He proudly holds ownership as a stakeholder of the Packers. In 2024, he got the opportunity to see the Packers take on the Seahawks on Monday Night Football and his team took home the W. Seeing Randy’s face light up being around all his fellow “Cheeseheads” and hearing him say “GO PACK GO” as his eyes filled with happy tears and he cheered them on is one of our favorite memories.
He also loved to camp and fish. He spent many years camping with his family at Beulah and Phillips Reservoirs and Crane Prairie in Central Oregon. He loved to spend quality time with his family sightseeing and fishing. He never missed a chance to skunk his family looking for a “Dit” in a rousing game of cards.
Randy married the love of his life Beverly, on August 28th 1976. They welcomed their handsome son Cody 10 years later. He was a dedicated husband and father. Beverly and Randy shared a connection that cannot be broken. They defined the vows of for better or worse, in sickness and in health. A true family man, he never missed a single sporting event, game, awards ceremony, etc. when it came to his son. He taught his son the power of putting family first. Family was the cornerstone of his life. He cherished moments spent with loved ones, creating lasting memories through laughter, shared stories, and simple acts of care. Cody and Randy were best friends and they had a strong bond and understanding that nothing could come between them. Randy was a wonderful friend who never hesitated to be there for anyone who needed him, always making friends along the way.
Randy’s granddaughters lovingly nicknamed him “The Silver Fox”. He carried a quiet wisdom about him and was a strong and brave man. He will be dearly missed but will live on in our hearts, guiding us with the wisdom and love he shared so generously. Rest in peace, knowing that your memory will always be cherished, and your spirit will continue to inspire those who loved you.
He is survived by his wife Beverly, son Cody, daughter in law Christa, granddaughters Brooklynn, Savannah and Scarlett, his brother Billy, and nephew Willie.
